A few months ago, I paid $3,000 for an online mentorship that promised to teach me how to build and sell AI agents. It was led by Ritesh Verma, the founder of a site called BecomeABotDeveloper. The pitch was simple and very appealing:
“Earn $5,000/month in 6 weeks. Guaranteed income or your money back.”
Like many others excited about the AI wave, I bought in.
What followed wasn’t exactly what I expected — but I did walk away with some lessons that I think others should know.
1.
Marketing Can Be Very Convincing — Even Misleading
The promise of high income and a “guaranteed refund” sounded almost too good to be true. I had a call with the mentor, and everything seemed solid. But strong marketing doesn’t always mean strong value behind the scenes.
2.
Course Content Should Be Evaluated Before Buying
The mentorship mostly included:
Puppeteer basics (for web scraping),
A few n8n automation workflows,
Brief videos on LinkedIn Sales Navigator,
A strategy that involved writing catchy Reddit posts to get DMs from leads.
Frankly, most of this is available online — for free — and often with better explanations.
3.
Refund Policies Can Be Loopholes
One of the selling points was a refund policy: if no project was landed within 4 weeks of active participation, you’d get your money back. I followed the requirements. But when I asked for a refund, I received a vague message like “I have a project for you” — with no timeline, no deliverables, no client. I believe this was meant to technically disqualify me from the refund.
Later, after I mentioned sharing my experience publicly, I was partially refunded $1,200. I’m still $1,800 down.
4.
Mentorship Should Involve Mentoring
Most of the interactions were in a group Zoom setting, with fairly generic feedback. I didn’t feel guided, challenged, or supported like I had expected from a mentorship.
5.
Due Diligence Is Everything
At the time I joined, there were no critical reviews about this program or Ritesh Verma. I truly wish I had found more context online before making my decision. This post is my small way of helping the next person do their homework.
Final Thoughts:
This isn’t about attacking anyone. It’s about learning. The AI space is full of new “mentors” and “gurus” — some good, some not so much. Just be cautious, ask hard questions, and always verify bold claims before you invest.
If even one person makes a more informed decision because of this, it’s worth sharing.

Seems to me this Ritesh Verma guy is a "huckster" i.e. thief ... there is no other way to evaluate this . He speaks with a forked tongue , plain and simple.
